SiteScope Tech vs Matterport
Both give you a photoreal walkthrough you share by link. The difference is the hardware you carry and the files you walk away with.
Last updated September 2026
Short answer: choose Matterport if you shoot marketing tours, very large buildings or outdoor sites and want a dedicated camera and a mature listing platform. Choose SiteScope Tech if you are an architect, designer or interior trade who wants to scan with an iPhone Pro and leave with a photoreal walkthrough, a measured E57 point cloud, a floor plan and CAD and BIM files you own.
One detail decides it for many teams. As of September 2026, Matterport's support documentation says its E57, BIM and CAD files are not offered for models captured with a smartphone or 360 camera. If you want to scan with a phone and still get a point cloud for Revit or ReCap, SiteScope Tech does that from the same visit.

Where Matterport is stronger
Matterport built the category. Its tours are familiar to buyers, owners and facility teams, and the platform is mature: embeds, Google Street View publishing, schematic floor plans on order, Property Intelligence reports, an Autodesk Forma integration on Business plans, and capture services where Matterport sends someone to scan for you.
The Pro3 is a dedicated LiDAR camera on a tripod. For a warehouse, a large commercial floor, or an outdoor site, it reaches farther and holds up over longer distances than a phone. Matterport also accepts 360 cameras and phones, so one account can cover quick captures and survey-heavy ones.
If your work is real estate marketing or large-venue documentation and you already own a Pro camera, Matterport is a strong choice and we would not talk you out of it.

What one iPhone Pro visit gives you in SiteScope Tech
A walkthrough people can open anywhere
A textured, photoreal 3D model of the real space that opens in any browser. Pin notes and photos to exact spots, then share a link with an optional password, email gate or expiry. Your team walks the site again from their desk, no second trip.
A measured point cloud you keep
Export E57 for Autodesk ReCap and Revit, or LAZ and PLY for other point cloud tools. The same capture you share with a client is the one you model from.
Plans and files for your tools
Room scans become a measured 2D floor plan with walls, doors, windows and room areas, which you refine in the web editor. Export IFC, DXF, GLB and PDF plan sets. SiteScope Tech works with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp and ArchiCAD through those files.
Takeoffs and quotes for trades
Painters, wallpaper and tile installers turn the same scan into gross and net areas with openings subtracted, material quantities and a client quote. Capture, model, estimate.
Honest limits: capture needs an iPhone Pro or iPad Pro with LiDAR. It is room and floor scale, not a survey-grade scanner, and long runs or fabrication dimensions should be checked on site.
