Choose SiteScope Tech if you work on building interiors and need a measured floor plan, E57 and IFC files for Revit, a photoreal walkthrough to share, or takeoffs and quotes for paint, wallpaper and tile.

What Polycam does well

Polycam is one of the most capable 3D capture apps available. It does LiDAR room capture on iPhone Pro, photo-based 3D on almost any phone, and 360 photos, and it runs on iOS, Android and the web. It exports a long list of mesh formats (GLTF, OBJ, FBX, DAE, STL, USDZ) and point clouds as LAS, PLY, PTS and XYZ, plus layered DXF floor plans on higher plans.

If you scan products, props, sculptures or outdoor scenes, or you need meshes for 3D and VFX work, Polycam is the better tool.

Is SiteScope Tech a Polycam alternative?
For architects, designers and interior trades working on buildings, yes. Polycam is a general 3D capture app that scans objects, rooms and outdoor scenes in many ways. SiteScope Tech is narrower: it scans interiors with an iPhone Pro and turns them into a measured plan, an E57 point cloud, IFC and DXF files, a photoreal walkthrough, and for trades, takeoffs and quotes.
Does Polycam export E57 or IFC?
As of September 2026, Polycam's pricing page and help center list LAS, PLY, PTS and XYZ for point clouds and DXF for CAD, but not E57 or IFC. Autodesk ReCap reads LAS and PTS directly, and tools such as CloudCompare convert to E57 if a consultant asks for it. Does Polycam do material takeoffs or estimates?
Polycam gives you floor plans and automated measurements on its Business and Enterprise plans. It does not calculate paint gallons, wallpaper rolls with pattern repeat, tile boxes with waste, or price a quote. SiteScope Tech does, from the same scan. See takeoffs.
