Trade Math, Not Just Square Feet

Each material is counted the way you buy it.

Paint

Wall area with doors and windows deducted, then your coats and primer.

Wallpaper

Strips cut to the tallest wall in the room, pattern repeat and match (including half-drop), and a roll count for the whole room.

Tile

Pattern waste for straight, brick, herringbone, or Versailles layouts, or your own waste %. Boxes are rounded once for the job, not wall by wall.

Flooring

Carpet by the square yard, cut from the roll width into drops and seams. Box goods (LVP, laminate, engineered wood, carpet tile) by box coverage. Pad, glue, and install labor can ride along with the product.

Ceilings

Flat ceiling area for paint or any finish priced by the square foot.

Layout previews show on the plan (carpet seams, plank rows, tile grid), with a switch to hide them.

  • Markup rules. For example, cost x 1.45 for a category, brand, supplier, or tag.

What is a material takeoff?
A takeoff is the list of material quantities a job needs: square feet of wall to paint, rolls of wallpaper, boxes of tile or flooring, linear feet of trim. In SiteScope it is the Estimate: you pick a room, add materials to its walls, floor, ceiling, and baseboards, and the quantities come from the measured floor plan.
Which plan includes estimating?
Free includes room-by-room estimating with up to 10 materials, plus scanning, floor plans, the web editor, and PDF reports. Pro adds unlimited materials, markup rules, bulk pricing, and quote PDFs, and you upgrade in the SiteScope app. See pricing.
Does the estimate subtract doors and windows?
Yes. Wall quantities use net area, with doors and windows taken out. More on why that matters in net area vs buy quantity.
Do I need to scan to estimate?
No. You can scan a room with an iPhone or iPad Pro, trace a blueprint or photo in the web editor, or draw the plan from scratch. The Estimate works the same way on any of them.
Do I have to price every room?
No. Price one wall in one room, one room, or the whole plan. The estimate and the quote only include what you add.
Which trades is it built for?
Painting, wallpaper and wall coverings, tile, flooring, and baseboards and trim, plus the remodelers and designers who spec them. You set your own products, costs, sell prices, and waste.
How do I get the estimate to my customer?
As a quote PDF with your branding, grouped by room. You mark it as sent, and as accepted when the customer says yes. If you change the job, Revise makes a new version. You can also export the materials to CSV for your own spreadsheet or a supplier order.
